Serena Ingham

Serena Ingham is an Italian-British artist whose work emerges from the meeting of the Italian pictorial tradition and a distinctly British aesthetic sensibility. At the core of her practice lies a precise principle: every work must be truly bespoke, conceived from the beginning in response to the person who commissions it, rather than adapted from a predefined style or format.

Her training in traditional painting techniques and the study of classical subjects, combined with experience in restoration and decorative arts, has shaped a deep understanding of materials, light, and the long-term durability of a work. This background allows her to combine rigorous technique with expressive freedom, maintaining careful control over the final result.

From this vision the Atelier Serena Ingham was founded: a studio dedicated exclusively to bespoke art commissions, where each project develops through a direct and private dialogue with the collector. Iconography, materials, dimensions and visual language are defined together, allowing every work develops in relation to the place and the person for whom it is created.

Serena works with natural pigments, egg tempera, oil painting and precious finishes, including gold leaf. Her practice ranges from complex iconographic compositions to more intimate personal works, always following the same bespoke approach: each artwork is conceived as a original work, created for a specific person and never intended for reproduction.

Her work is not created simply to decorate a space.
